'Hospital of the Future' at New Scientist Live 2025 with Algocyte Voted Festival’s Most Popular Feature
We are happy to share that the 'Hospital of the Future' exhibition at New Scientist Live 2025 held in London 2 months ago led by the School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences of King's College London where where we showcased Algocyte, our cognitive AI approach to remote digital care and precision diagnostics was, once again, voted the festival’s most popular feature.
This is even more impressive considering that our exhibition was competing against a military helicopter from the UK Royal Navy in display at the science fair and with the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) who brought very impressive artefacts related to their fusion energy projects.
In the exhibition, we were able to get people immersed in a virtual reality show using VR headsets where they could navigate through the blood stream and learn to identify different cells of the immune system that Algocyte helps track of and learns from to keep people and clinicians informed about users and patient's health during illness but also before for predictive medicine, super early detection and precision healthcare.
The New Scientist Live is the world’s greatest festival of ideas and discoveries in London. KCL’s stand brings the hospital of the future to life with live demonstrations of the pioneering medical technologies being developed to improve patient diagnosis, treatment and outcomes including 1.6m people engagements with the NHS every day in England.

People attending our stand learned how clinicians will monitor patients’ immune systems and how AI is and will be used to make blood testing more efficient, affordable and personal for precision healthcare and predictive medicine.
It was so rewarding to hear from the thousands of attendants the curiosity in and the validation of our technology while they learned from our 3D virtual reality immersive experience, our immune system video game, the educational and informational videos, and the demonstrations of our medical instruments looking at real samples.
Even our closest collaborators expressed how this validated what we have been doing and working so hard for so many years now and how this was their peak of their careers (their words).
OIA and KCL teams at Algocyte’s exhibition stand as part of the Hospital of the Future
Many thanks to the dozen of volunteers from the teams of KCL—Dr. Zenil’s PhD and Masters students—and the Algocyte team that managed and cared for our stand during these 3 days including: Imad, Riya, SantiagoZ, Sergio, Steven, Chiu, Hossein and more. But also everyone else behind the technology that makes it possible and the core team of about 10 people and other dozen of consultants at OIA|Algocyte working tirelessly day and night to make this happen.
We are looking forward to returning on 2026.
